McTeague - Frank Norris, Eric Solomon Overall this was a very good book. At some points it began annoying me because the author used repetition to demonstrate several characters obsession with money and gold. Once I was able to put that in the background, the story itself was very enjoyable. It also picked up considerably in the second half when there was much more action, and the ending made for a laughable, yet deplorable , twist. I do feel that it deserves a more detailed review, because it should be read, so when I have time I'll come back to it and hopefully do it a bit of justice.
