The House on the Strand - Daphne du Maurier I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to reading more of Daphne Du Maurier's work. This one was written later in her life, and whether or not that would be apparent to those who have read her other books, I don't know. But I liked her no fuss, no muss style, which made it an interesting but easy read. It was written in the 1960's and had that sort of flavor to do with drug experimentation and the like, but there is also some time travel, mystery, medieval history, romance, and modern family life- all rolled brilliantly into one story. It sounds a bit much, but it works so well together. I'd recommend this for anyone who just wanted something different, especially if they are interested in historical fiction, as that was some of the best stuff.
