Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore - Robin Sloan, Ari Fliakos Not having time to sit and read today, I was looking for some background noise that would count toward my 2013 reading goal. The name of the book was familiar to me, thanks to Goodreads, but I think I had discounted it after having read the summary and a few reviews. Still, it was available from the library...

As an audiobook, keeping my attention is tough, but this had me glued to my seat. Luckily, the project I was working on took just about as long to finish as the reading. It was a wonderfully plotted story read by a very good narrator; everything was right to earn four stars. It moved along at a good pace, was about books and mystery, history and the lightning fast, evolving world of technology. The only spanner in the works for me was the epilogue. It did just go on a bit too much for my liking, but it didn't lose any extra points for it.
